Simple Strat is a small content marketing agency looking to make big waves in the world of B2B marketing. 

Our team is passionate about helping our clients create stand-out content that truly moves the needle for their business. We love creating content that compels people to read, watch, listen, and act – and that’s where our Content Specialist role comes in.

As a short-form Content Specialist at Simple Strat, your workdays will primarily be spent writing high-quality content that captures attention in just a few words and helping our team develop strategies that exceed our clients' goals.

If you like variety and opportunities to learn, you’ll love writing for our different types of clients in the B2B space, creating everything from social media posts to podcast and video descriptions to marketing emails and more. But you won’t have to do it all on an island.

Every Simple Strat client starts out with a detailed research and planning project – ensuring you always have audience insights, competitive intel, and clear goals to help guide your work. Plus, you’ll work alongside a talented long-form writer, designer, account manager, and strategist for every client.

You’ll quickly find that our fully remote team is more tight-knit than the average office. From random slack conversations to casual virtual lunches to coaching sessions with agency leadership, you can rest assured that you’ll feel the support and comradery of the Simple Strat team.
 

An ideal short-form Content Specialist at Simple Strat:

  • Is a strong writer with a track record of delivering results, whether that’s happy clients or improving metrics
  • Has a proven ability to write content that causes people to take action (click, watch, engage, etc.) and can provide examples
  • Has experience repurposing long-form content into short-form pieces such as social media posts and email blurbs and can show examples of this work
  • Has a track record of success across channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, podcast networks, email, landing pages, etc.)
  • Loves challenging problems and variety in their work
  • Is deeply curious about B2B content marketing and closely follows industry experts and trends
  • Bonus: Has experience with and enjoys writing for B2B technology companies (bonus for SaaS experience)

 

Requirements for this role:

  • You have experience writing short-form content for B2B audiences and decision-makers across a variety of channels (social media, emails, podcast/video descriptions, landing pages, etc.)
  • You have experience with identifying the most interesting components of long-form content (articles, videos, podcasts, etc.) and capturing those components in short-form copy
  • You are deeply familiar with a variety of social media platforms and can speak to their differences and unique opportunities
  • You have experience creating partnerships with other organizations to secure guest posts, backlinks, podcast interview opportunities, and similar content collaboration opportunities
  • You understand content KPIs and how to use that data to improve performance over time
  • You have experience with tools such as HubSpot, WordPress, and SEMRush (or similar tools)
  • You are authorized to work in the US and your working hours have strong overlap with the Central Time Zone
  • Bonus: You have experience writing copy for social and search advertising with a track record of successful campaigns

 

In a typical week in this role, you may:

  • Write engaging social media content designed for specific platforms that engages target B2B audiences
  • Write emails that people love to read and can’t help but act on
  • Engage with target audiences in forums and online communities
  • Form relationships with other content publishers to generate backlinks and content partnership opportunities
  • Repurpose long-form content into engaging short-form pieces for use in infographics, social media, short videos, etc. This includes turning articles into a series of tweets, pulling the most impactful clips from a podcast episode, and writing video descriptions that make people excited to click the play button.
  • Assist with the publishing of content – including tasks such as publishing blog posts in WordPress, sending emails from HubSpot, and loading social posts into social media publishing tools
  • Review content performance metrics and use them to optimize over time

 

Compensation, Benefits, Perks

  • Typical salary range: $50,000-$70,000/year depending on experience
