Simple Strat is a growing Diamond-level HubSpot Solutions Partner and we're also known for managing the largest HubSpot tutorial channel on YouTube: HubSpot Hacks. We're well on our way to creating significant impact in the HubSpot community and have an immediate need for a team lead in our consulting group.
The Lead HubSpot Solutions Consultant is a dynamic player-coach role responsible for both delivering high-level HubSpot consulting and leading a pod of 4-5 HubSpot Solutions Consultants. This role focuses on ensuring the delivery team maintains high utilization, adheres to project budgets, and provides exceptional client service. Simultaneously, the Lead will manage their own portfolio of client relationships (approximately 50% billable capacity), applying their deep expertise to solve complex HubSpot challenges, drive measurable results, and shape the company's go-to-market strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Management:- Manage a pod of 4-5 HubSpot Solutions Consultants, ensuring team targets for utilization, project margins, retention, and expansion are met.
- Conduct weekly 1-on-1s to unblock consultants, troubleshoot client friction, and support their career growth.
- Review and spot-check recorded client calls to help clients continuously improve how they show up for our clients.
- Enforce project management hygiene, ensuring tasks, budgets, and time-tracking are actively maintained by the team.
- Lead project post-mortems and retainer health checks to improve processes and templatize successful strategies.
- Assist consultants with the preparation for and delivery of Quarterly Business Reviews for retained clients.
- Oversee sales-to-service handoffs, assigning new projects to the pod based on capacity and skill set.
- Provide direct deliverable QA and hands-on coaching specifically for new hires during their initial onboarding period.
- Act as the first line of support for consultant roadblocks and client issues.
- Manage implementation projects and retainer relationships, ensuring quality work is delivered on time and within budget.
- Manage client communications, keeping them up to date on project status and answering questions in a timely manner.
- Conduct HubSpot audits to help clients understand where they may be deviating from best practices.
- Hold discovery meetings to understand client challenges and create implementation plans to achieve their goals.
- Execute hands-on HubSpot onboarding, consulting, and implementation work inside client portals across the full HubSpot platform.
- Help clients identify additional ways they can leverage HubSpot to create value for their organization.
- Provide HubSpot training and documentation to clients’ users.
SUCCESS METRICS
The Lead HubSpot Solutions Consultant’s performance will be measured primarily on the success and efficiency of their pod:- North Star Metric: Pod’s Net Service Revenue Retention
- Supporting KPIs:
- Pod’s Billable Utilization Rate
- Personal Billable Utilization Rate
- Pod’s budget adherence
- HubSpot shared deals won
- Demonstrated ability to improve results over time through team coaching and development.
COLLABORATION & REPORTING
- Reports directly to the CEO.
- Manages a pod of 4-5 HubSpot Solutions Consultants.
- Works closely with:
- Sales team (project handoffs and capacity planning)
- Marketing Director (to provide subject matter expertise for marketing materials)
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Deep familiarity with the HubSpot platform.
- Strong leadership, empathy, and coaching abilities to elevate a team of consultants.
- Exceptional project management skills, including capacity planning, schedule development, and budget adherence.
- Excellent client-facing communication and account management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and audit performance within HubSpot.
- Clear written and verbal communication for both internal and external audiences.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires balancing management duties with hands-on technical execution.
REQUIREMENTS:
- You have 3+ years of experience using HubSpot software, including the initial onboarding process
- You have 2+ years of experience consulting others on the HubSpot platform
- You have 2+ years of experience managing a team
- You have experience managing client relationships
- You have experience with project management; developing project plans and schedules, and leading those projects to successful conclusions
- You have proficient knowledge of the business strategies and functions that companies use HubSpot to execute (ie. inbound marketing, inside sales, etc.)
- You are eligible for full-time, W2 employment in the United States and are able to work during standard US business hours
- Bonus: You have experience with API integrations, coded workflow actions, and/or HubSpot development
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Typical base salary range: $100,000-$110,000/year depending on experience
- Up to $10,000 in additional compensation through quarterly performance-based bonuses
- Profit-sharing bonus program (in addition to performance-based bonuses)
